Christmas Gifts For Car Lovers
We love Christmas at PDL MOT & Repairs. It’s amazing how many of our customers ask what kind of things they can buy for their car-fanatic family members and friends.
We’ve recommended a few things that have been bought for us personally or that we have bought for others, so we’ve listed them in this blog (we are also sending out personal hints to our family members too, nudge nudge!)
Car mats
The ultimate easy car gift, right? For those who aren’t so into their four-wheeled loves, this could seem like a simple off-the-shelf purchase. But you need to consider the car make, the size and shape of the footwell, and the existing interior colours and design. There are also many companies that offer custom-made, personalised car mats if your budget can stretch that far.
Valet set
But not just any valet set…. The sets include snow foam, shampoo for the bodywork, and separate shampoo for the wheels, polish, wax, sponges, cloths, brushes, buckets…. the list is extensive! Prices can range between £10 and £65 from most well-known retailers.
Handheld vac
No more dragging the big, household vacuum outside! A handheld vac for the car is designed so that it is much better for getting into the small nooks and crannies of a car.
Dashcam
Whether it’s a new gadget for the car or an upgrade of an existing one, dashcams are becoming more and more recognisable in cars and can document the car owners’ driving to enable them to record anything that happens on the road. This can protect them against fraudulent insurance claims, deters theft, and can lower car insurance premium.
Personalised number plate
Starting from £130, personalised number plates can be a unique and thoughtful gift for a car enthusiast. As it is such a personalised gift, make sure you are confident with the plate number and letter combination before you make that purchase! Car scents/dehumidifier/air purifier
More of a stocking filler or part of a gift set, any car lover would appreciate a nice new scent for their vehicle. Dehumidifiers are great for those who regularly battle with misted windows and mildew. There are some really funky designs available to fit in with the style of most car interiors. Air purifiers are useful for those who transport items that can leave a smell behind, possibly a wet dog after a long soggy walk, or those who deliver takeaways.
Massage seat
I LOVE these. But who doesn’t love a massage? These are great for those who spend a lot of time on the roads and need a little TLC. A car seat massager can help keep the body limber, making each trip a little more enjoyable.
Driving gloves
Possibly more suited to a classic car driver but is certainly not exclusive to them. The tack of a leather driving glove offers superior grip and control over the wheel. They’re especially useful when driving on motorways and can help to reduce hand fatigue. Driving gloves reduce the vibrations from your wheel that tire the hand when driving for long periods of time.
